Samsung Air Condtioner

I called circuit city to get my defective A/C fixed. I had purchased a warranty. They told me I had been scheduled for 7/31 from 8-12. I called to confirm what time and they had no record of my service call. Circuit City had dropped the ball and never sent the request. After speaking to two rude "supervisors". I was told I would be refunded the price but not the tax and would be responsible for disposing of and installing my new A/C. When someone makes a dumb mistake shouldnt they be responsible for fixing it without inconveniencing the customer?
