Maytag MZD27766GEW side by side design problem

This is the second time my Maytag side by side which I bought in 2002 has failed to function. Both time the refrigerator is warm and the freezer is frosted with ice. The first time I paid Maytag service to replace the electronics board that apparently cycles the defrost heater. It quit again, this time I called a local service person in Milwaukee and he told me that he has replaced over 230 of these boards. He said the board has just been redesigned so it is not so stuffed like the old one. I asked the serviceman that if this is a design problem, it should be a recall. He agreed and told me that recalls are only if there is a safety issue. I called Maytag customer service explained what I heard. She said " I so sorry to hear that but your product is out of warranty, there is nothing we can do for you. We can send a repaire person and you have to pay again". I asked if I can talk to managers to express my concern. She said there is no place to send your concern. My next refrigerator is an LG. Done with this crap.
