My renewal policy was priced as if I drive between 15k - 20k/mi. per year.

I just called AAA's customer service to find out who I could write to with my evidence showing I drive less than 10k/mi. per year.

I was told that the "underwriting dept." is responsible for calculating that. So I asked for their contact information so I could send my evidence. I was told that they do not have a mailing address, fax number or e-mail address and there is no way to contact them.

I've been with them for 25 Years!!

I've had similar problems with them. They (the agent) refused to write a policy for a car when I said it was driven less than 5k miles per year. He said people drive more than they realize. I sold the car 2 years later, with fewer than 2k total miles added those two years.

Another problem, although different, but from the same organization, was their handling of my daughters claim. Her car, a Pontiac Grand Am, was totalled by a drinking driver as he pulled out of a strip club. Their alledged policy is to determine the car's value based on current, local selling prices. They valued hers at a very low price. When I asked for the support, they gave me the paperwork: it was based on the cost of a Ford Taurus with 186,000 miles. We had a rather heated discussion about ethics and such, and I was told that if I could find an ad for a car for sale, similar to hers, they would make an adjustment. I did, on a Friday, and the price was several thousand dollars more. I sent them a copy of the ad and followed up with a call at the beginning of the next week. I was told they couldn't use that price, because the car had been sold that weekend. Even though anyone else would take that as proof of the value, they didn't.
