Disappointed

I purchased this RCA TV (Model 20F424T) on March 8, 2008 and on July 25, 2008 it started turning on and off at will. When I tried to change the channel or adjusting the volume, it automatically turned itself off. I tried unplugging it for 5 minutes and replugging with no change. I unplugged it overnight which also did not help. I returned it to the Walmart where I purchased it and found they couldn't do anything because it was over 90 days. I paid $149.96 plus tax for this TV and the RCA rep told me I needed to send in or secure with a credit card $73.85 (nearly half of the purchase price)to cover the cost of repairs since I had it over 90 days. I think this and any TV should last longer than 4 1/2 months which is how long I've owned it. This set is for a bedroom and gets MAYBE 7 hours of use per week. I have a TV in my living room that I purchased when my daughter was still in a car seat.....she's a freshman in college now and the TV works perfectly with zero (knock on wood) repairs. I have contacted RCA online and want my TV exchanged for one that works. I am happy to say that my local Walmart manager is also trying to help me resolve this matter.
