Carefree Inn Hwy 610 Houston

Waste of money!

About a week ago I went to the Carefree Inn on the south 610 loop in Houston and booked two nights and paid in full with a credit card. The first night was no problem and I got up in the morning and left for another long day of work. I got back to the hotel at 10:30 at night after literally working 13 hours and noticed that the door to my room was open! I proceeded into the room with caution and luckily noticed that my few clothes and luggage was still in the room but that the bathroom timer light was on. I gathered up my belongings and went to the front desk to complain and get a refund. I was promply told that the time to check-out of the room was over and that I cannot get a refund!!! "How am I supposed to check out by noon if I am at work for 13 hours?" I asked the person at the counter. I also told him how unsafe I felt (anyone could open my door in the middle of the night). I was again told that I was past the time to check-out. I asked for the manager and of course was told that they were not in and would be back at midnight. I had a long day and I needed some sleep so I filled out the required complaint card and was promised that the manager would call me as soon as she got in. Naturally, this never happened and I never got a refund!!!
