Concast failed to port old telephone number to new account

New Service Comcast US www.comcast.com Just started Comcast service. Said it would take 3 weeks to retrieve number from Vonage. Gave me a temp number. Just called and talked to Evon (employee # 40197) said there was no work order number for the port. In the mean time we cancelled our Vonage account. Evon said we should not have done that since our old number is now lost. Only possibility is to call Vonage to see if it's still available. I don't have time to do this.
