Blockbuster Game Policy Rip-Off
|
Video Game Rentals Blockbuster 10016 W. Oakland Park Blvd Sunrise, FL 33351 US www.blockbuster.com My fiance and I recently bought an xbox 360 and we wanted to rent a few games from Blockbuster. Well, imagine our surprise when we were told that to rent the games we were going to be charged not only a rental fee, but a hold for the full price of the games were going to be put on our credit card until we returned them. If the games are not returned on time (5 days), the hold is made permanent. They will refuse to accept the games back. So let me get this straight....I have to pretty much "buy" the games from Blockbuster and I'l get my money back when I return them. How is this renting??? If I wanted to pay $60 per game I would just go to Best Buy and buy them in the first place and I wouldn't have to pay an additional "rental fee" on top of it. This is supposed to be a new corporate policy, but how come no one has ever heard of it? Aren't they supposed to announce these things to consumers? The only reason we were told about it was because the charge for nearly $200 didn't go through. Needless to say, we cancelled our membership and we're renting from GameFly form now on. I can't wait until parents start trying to rent a few video games for their kids and are told that they have to fork over $200. You'll probably hear on the news about a mother who used her 10 year old as a bat and beat some clerk to death.
