Cell Phones Cellular South 4930 Hardy St. Hwy. 98 W P.O. Box 15602 Hattiesburg , Mi 39402 US www.cellularsouth.com I bought two very expensive Motorola Cell Phones from Cellular South. When I purchased them the total of both phones was more than $400, four months later the speaker on one phone does not work and the glass came out of the front window, when I purchased the phones the man that sold them to me told me they had a one year warranty on the phone and anything that happened was covered by that warranty, I asked specifically if it covered the phone breaking or getting wet and I was told yes. Because of this I did not purchase the insurance. Now I am told that is not true that the warranty only covers the speakerphone part of the phone but that they will not fix that because of the broken screen that is considered user abuse. Everyone I have spoken to did not even apologize for the man being unknowledgeable of the product he was selling me, the only thing I am being told is whether or not I had purchased the insurance I would still have to pay around $100. I even stated that it would make more sense for me to cancel my service and go with another company to get a discount on a phone, and was told OK. They do not have any care about the money coming out of customers pockets. No one had a reasonable solution and no one even the "manager" I had spoken to had any compassion for this problem. My family has had Cellular South for years but because of this we will take our business elsewhere. Whatever happened to making a customer happy? Can they not see that I have purchased several phones, have multiple lines and my bill is current? Does any of this matter? I could cancel my service let my bill go to a collection agency and leave it all unpaid while I go to another company and get better customer service, cheaper phones and better handled information. They are looking at it as though it should not matter that the person gave me wrong information because either way I would have to pay something so why complain? I believe this is wrong. I also do not understand how the warranty can not cover a broken screen and that be considered user abuse? the glue that held the screen came loose causing the screen to come out! That is a bad product not my abuse. They also have no way of making a complaint on their website, I have posted this only after talking with several people over the phone with no satisfactory result from anyone. I have been with them for years and love their customer service. Have to agree with the other comment-if you wreck your car the dealer won't give you a new one. The issue you have is with the phone manufacturer not Cellular South. Cellular South goes above and beyond customer service. Warranty does not cover physcial damage. Warranty covers manufactor defects. If your window broke on you car would the dealership fix it? No, its done through insurance. Warranty and insurance are two diffrents things that people fail to understand. I needed a replacement phone, I went in the store advised the sales clerk that I wanted a free phone with 2 year contract renewal. She gave me a very basic Samsung flip phone (no bluetooth, pic phone or anything) and then she asked if I had my old phone Nokia slide phone worth about $250. But it wasn't working right so I decided to turn my phone in. I had to pay a $59 early contract renewal fee (Who does this, renewing your contract benfits them) With no $20 off of my balance. I could not get my old phone back and was told that the actual price in the store is $20, there are no free phones. I could have gotten this same phone online for FREE. I later found out that I could have taken my Nokia local and gotten it fixed for around $50. I called Cellular South and they say they have no way of getting my phone back to me. The lying customer service scks. The unlimited is great but the phone selection and customer service is not satisfactory to say the least. I beleive they only hire people that has no knowledge of their service. I've been trying to receive a phone I upgrade, paid for, and have an order number for the last 4 days. I've been without a phone for 4 days. From the manager to the sales rep no one can tell me anything. Who do I complain to?
