Bad Checkout Service, Bad Baggers, and Baby has no Milk!!! VONS - West L.A.

On Christmas Eve I went to the VONS store on Sepulveda and NAtional in West L.A. to pick up some much needed items for the following day's Christmas dinner. During my visit, I was in the baby food aisle and was shocked to hear the store manager nearly yelling at a woman who wanted to exchange something she had purchased. He was belittling her and telling her that she could not return the item.

Then, at the checkout line, I said hello to the cashier who did not even look at me or say anything at all. When the transaction was done, she just handed me my receipt. VONS cashier's always say how much you saved and your last name. She said nothing. She was totally sour and disinterested...

To make matters worse, the two young men that were bagging my groceries paid no attention to me. I had several bags of groceries, along with my 16 month baby in his stroller. These guys were so busy saying " I swear to God I couldn't believe it". "Man, you should have seen it". "I swear to God". blah blah blah. I asked them - "Did you bag everything?" because they were so lost in their own world and didn't even bother to ask if I needed help out (I would have said yes this time because I got more than I planned to come in for and managing all of those bags and the stroller was a bit tough). They didn't even acknowledge me and I was so annoyed at being ignored. I looked quickly to see if everything had been bagged and I did not notice anything there..

The next day on Christmas morning when I went to make the creme brulee we'd be having later for dessert, not only did I not have the dozen eggs I purchased, but I also did not have the half gallon of Whole milk I purchased for my son! And the half gallon of 1% Milk for me and my husband!

I could not call the store - they were closed. And I could not find the receipt until a couple of days ago. When I called (before I found the receipt) I was told I could not try to get my money back or my items without a receipt, and even if I had it, it would be sketchy at best to get the items or the funds since so much time had passed.

So VONS on Sepulveda, it's been great, but from now on I'll go to Trader Joes and Albertsons, who are closer to my home anyway, and who actually greet you at the check out line and don't steal your groceries.
