Inwarranty Service of Videocon fridge D280

Subject: Unresolved Complaints on Videocon D-280 refrigerator under warranty after complaining thrice.

I had purchased Videocon D-280 refrigerator thru an authorized dealer. In 4 months the refrigerator stopped working completely (only the light came on when the door was opened and there was no cooling) and foods like milk had spoilt. After complaining thru the call center the next morning a technician (from the service franchisee) attended to it the next day and made it to work. He reported that the "timer had got stuck" and that he had reset it. Consequently the refrigerator was running well for another 5 days when it again stopped working completely.

When complained again thru the call center, and after persistent reminders and request to the franchisees & technical staff, it was attended to and they turned up after 3 days from the date of complaining. The technician who attended to it had the "timer" replaced. However after that, my refrigerator has been running continuously "non stop" for 3 to 4 days. There is no clicking sound that is usually heard from it when the compressor turns on and off. Since it doesn't stop in-between, I am also concerned if the auto defrost feature is working at all. I called back the technician after the 3rd day to have it set right as replacing the timer had only created more problems than solving the previous problem. However since there was no response to attend, I had the 3rd complaint registered with the call center.

I am not happy with the service provided and also about the new problems faced and the repeated need to call the technicians who invariably attend after a long delay. A refregirator is an essential piece of equipment in any home and when it is down, there is so much of chaos. And it takes so many phone calls and pleading and cajoling to have someone from authorised service centers to attend to it.
