AVOID MYDISHNOW.COM! I have had nothing but frustration after 6 months of dealing with these people...especially the most misguided, uninformed, and rude customer service manager, Jamie. She would rather hang up on you than help you. They promised 3 gifts for signing up with Dish Network: $10 rebate per month for the service, FREE digital camera, and $100 gas voucher. There was no mention on the phone of any of the real terms of the deals, only what the receptionists thought they were. We were told the camera was free, and that the gas program would send us $100 in credit if we sent in $100 in receipts. The ACTUAL deals were as follows (I found this out after 38 phone calls, each one recorded):

$10 rebate: I didn't qualify for it since it expired before I could turn in the paperwork required. My fault? No. Mydishnow.com requires a copy of your second month's bill from Dish Network before they will send you the rebate. That comes approximately 60 days into the service...coincidentally the same amount of time I have before the offer expires. Even if I had overnighted the copy to mydishnow.com, and they overnighted me the rebate form, and I overnighted it to Dish Network, it would still have been late. Strike 1.

Free digital camera: This also requires me to fill out forms after my second bill. The sheet asks you to check the box for the gas voucher and for the camera. I did it, sent it in, and never heard back. Called them multiple times, finally got them to send out the gas voucher (found out later this promotion costs them $6 to offer to their clients). Still no camera voucher. I have recorded calls to them that they have told me I didn't send in the form (false, since they sent the gas voucher that was from the same form), I didn't check the box (false, since that would invalidate the whole process on my part), and finally that they sent it and I didn't get it (which invalidates their responses to the previous calls, because why would they send it if I didn't check the boxes on the form?). Finally, January 20th (over 5 months later), got the voucher, only to find out that it isn't free. It costs $29.99 S&H. Last I checked, $29.99 isn't the same as FREE. I found out later these forms cost mydishnow.com $25 to purchase from mpromos.com, same company as the gas voucher, only much more expensive to send out on their end. That would explain their refusal to send it. But back to the camera...the company that you send this form to only accepts money orders and cashier's checks...nothing secure at all. So not only is it not free, but I would almost guarantee that if I sent the $30 in, it would be "lost in the mail" or otherwise "never received." Can anyone claim they got the gift? I have only seen people say no. Strike 2.

Lastly, the gas voucher. The program (freebiegas.com) requires you to send in money to join the rebate club, then spend $100 per month at the SAME GAS STATION...then send in all the receipts so that they are received by the 1st of the month (if not, they are discarded, so to play it safe you need to spend $100 before about the 20th of the month). They will then send you $25 back every month you jump through the appropriate hoops...has anyone ever done this successfully? Can't find any record of it. I would imagine everything I send in will get there a day late no matter when I send it. And also, the gas voucher and camera voucher also state they must be returned within 45 days of the purchase date indicated on the receipt. What a joke. Strike 3.

So in summary, all three promotions were bogus. One expires too soon to be humanly redeemable, the other 2 aren't free, and most likely don't exist at all. The staff at mydishnow.com are very misinformed on the deals (when we agreed to the deal, the receptionist told us completely different terms), and Jamie Horton is a raving lunatic that won't listen, provide any help, or stay on the phone. I informed the staff each and every time I called that I was recording the calls since I wanted to avoid a scam. Then each one proceeds to contradict what the others tell me. I have 2 phone calls in which I was told what I believed to be the terms of the agreement. Jamie tells me that she is sorry I was misinformed, but there is nothing she can do about it (then she hangs up). My next step is small claims court. I would encourage the other 80 people who have filed a BBB report to do the same. Their message states that my calls are recorded by them for "quality assurance" purposes. I wonder how they define "quality assurance," since this obviously is not quality.

Yes... the gas card thing was a scam but it was because of the company that was supposed to send us the gas cards, not because of Dish.

See what I mean here.

Marketing Company Sued over Allegations of Deceptive Marketing

Tidewater Marketing Global Consultants, Inc., a Florida corporation located in Pinellas, and the company's president, Crystal Clark, are named in the lawsuit.

Here is the official statement:

http://www.myfloridalegal.com/newsrel.nsf/newsreleases/0351D7EC68E846FD8525755C006DF2BF

Here is where you can make comments about this great turn of events.

http://www.fosterfollynews.com/news/2009Feb13MarketingCompanySuedoverAllegationsofDeceptiveMarketing.php

Basically, the report says:

"The lawsuit was filed under Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. Civil penalties against the company and Clark could include an injunction prohibiting them from engaging in this conduct, a requirement for consumer restitution, a $10,000 civil fine for each violation, and payment of attorneys' fees and costs."

So to all of those that want to recover what we are rightfully owed... and get some of that "consumer restitution", if you complain about this company just call the Attorney General's fraud hotline at 1-866-966-7226 or file a complaint online at http://myfloridalegal.com and tell them you want on the list to get your promised cards or money.

Hi All,

I have been duped of the same and even logged a complaint with BBB but of no avail.

I see a lot of people are distressed with their service; is there nothing that we can do about these scum bags? Has anyone gotten any idea to teach them a lesson

Thank you for this info! I went to infinitydish.com (which is also mydishnow.com) to see about a $9.99 "welcome package". Yeah, I knew it was too good to be true, but I wanted to make sure. In the ad, you have to visit the site for more details, but on the site there is absolutely no info about the "welcome package". Then I noticed that the gas voucher was "in conjunction" with freebiegas.com. Whoa, look them up and you find all sorts of people who got scammed. I think I'll steer very clear of this company. Thanks for posting about it. I sure hope you do sue them in small claims court. Be sure to sue for the max amount allowed by law so that when they don't show, you'll get an award for the full amount. Good luck, and thanks again!

I can't comment in mydishnow, but can comment on the free gas. I paid my $5 and have been sending in my receipts for 4 months now and have yet to receive a single gas card from them. I have however recieved e-mail confirmations that they have recieved my reciepts in good order. I think it's a total scam!

mydishnow.com is the same people who runs infinitydish.com. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE COMPANIES. They are corrupt, inefficient, and scam artists based on Boca Raton, FL. Their local numbers are 561-245-2818 and 561-544-1556. Their toll free number is 1-866-629-1255 and 1-866-324-9780. Call these number constantly just to bug the hell out of these scums of the earth. DO NOT HANG UP. LET THEM SAY HELLO MANY TIMES UNTIL THEY GET TIRED OF YOU.

For those who find this googling, Freebiegas.com have now attempted to relocate to http://freegaspromo.com/

But they're still the same lying scumbags. They didnt even bother to change the website logos...

Their physical location in Florida hasnt changed either.

I will strongly recommend people to stay away from MYDISHNOW.COM.

I was misinformed about the free gift they are offering for taking dishnetwork service.

I called the customer support and got information about different promotions they are offering. I asked about any charges involved in the free gift they are offering. They said there are no charges whatsoever.

I agreed, and at the time of closing the order, they said there is a $39.95 charges towards order processing. This is because of the free gift they are offering. I again asked are there any other charges involved, and they said NONE.

Finally, the order was processed. I called them to find out about the free gift. They said I have to pay $24.95 towards shipping and handling. There was no mention of $24.95 charges anytime during our conversation. I was misinformed, misguided all along the order processing. I talked to the manager, and he was very rude and did not care. I would again strongly recommend people to stay away from mydishnow.com.

Again STAY AWAY!

I agree - it's a total scam. The camera isn't worth the postage and the voucher for gas is totally misleading. The customer service people are rude. I regret signing up for DISH.

This gas card is a scam. We attended a timeshare presentation with the promise of a $150 gas voucher. We received the 'FREEBIEGAS.COM' card with details as described above. When contacting the company via E-Mail, they stated that there were alternate gifts available and could be found on the web site, but they're not listed on their site, nor will the contact us link work. In addition, they responded saying to see the 'FREEBEEGAS.COM' web site (note the spelling difference). Both sites are identical and neither works. BEWARE....... seems that more companies are offering this option and the company selling the bogus vouchers is the only one making any money.

Wow, that full statement sums it up for me. EXACT same problems, and dish network will not help resolve it either. They just give me another number to call which ends up redirecting you to mydishnow again anyway.

I plan on contacting the BBB and making Dish credit my account for the losses since they endorse this company.
