I received the hosiery with a letter stating that the free pair was a thank you for trying your hosiery program. Included with the hosiery was an overwhelming amount of advertisement fliers from other businesses. Months later in January I received an invoice for the free hosiery for $15.92. I found a No-Obligation-To-Buy fine print, which stated that I had actually received hosiery on an Approval Only basis, requiring me to either keep the hosiery (apparently giving approval) and pay for it, or return it. The offer of the hosiery being free was therefore false advertisement. I'll not pay this invoice and if I receive any other correspondence requesting payment I will consider it to be harassment. I will return the items sent if they will send me a postage paid return label. I am making the following demands: 1) Delete the account which I did not open - Account #112232357-3- and remove the charge of $15.92, 2) Provide me with a written response within the next 15 days (no later than February 13th, 2008) assuring me that HCI Direct, INC has deleted the account (#1122-32357-3 ) as well as my name from your database with nothing to be owed now or in the future, 3) Remove my name from your customer list, and 4) Do not sell, exchange or trade my name to any other company or vendor or merchandiser. If this issue is not resolved according to these demands, then I will report your company to the Better Business Bureau. I will also file a complaint with the U.S. Postmaster and with my Topeka consumer advocate. I have researched your company on the internet and have found that you have been engaging in these unethical business practices for several years. I have documentation of these complaints and will take the necessary action to hold you accountable for your fraudulent practices.
