August 17,2007.Mans nose rotted off on the tip after a nose job with world renowned

rhinoplasty surgeon Dr.Jack P.Gunter of Dallas,Tx.

Michael Funk Of Phenix City,Al went in for surgery with Dr.Jack P. Gunter

to have his nose straightened on the tip and sides.

In an 8 hour long surgery,Rib Carteledge and k-wire(a specialty of this surgeon) was used

to make the nose and tip more desireable and straight.

When the patient woke he was in severe pain and the tip

could not be touched.I had had some surgeries before and one on the nose...a primary that I was unsatisfied with,

This pain was

different,intense like something was wrong.Dr.Gunter is a specialist in revisionary rhinoplasty.He fixed bad nose jobs and

does revisions.He is world renowned.He is getting a little long in the tooth at 70 years old.

Michael was a healty 39 year old male non smoker non diabetic.

All blood work and pre op visits went fine and the doctor proceeded.

This was out patient but they kept me over night because I was just in too much pain.

I was released the nex day and went to the hotel room.Afew days later I called witht the conacern

of the stitch line getting blacker and wider.I went in and saw the other doctor that

helped perform the surgery and did some neck liposuction...Dr.Vincent Marin.He also harvested

the rib for the nasal revision.I do not know if he actually performed any on the rhinoplasty.

They looked at me and decided to let me go home and see what happens.Now rememeber,My nose is black on

the tip and something is obviosly really wrong! I went home anyway at the request of the doctors. to watch my nose turn black like

tar and proceed to rott off on the tip.i flew to Dallas a few times and it was determined that we should have

it debried .Dr.Hester in Atlanta,Ga was the one choosen by Dr.Gunter to do this.

He took all the dead tissue away and then it had to heal.After that Dr.Gunter determined I should have

a forehead flap...But,He said it was ultimatly up to me.I had a big hole in my head.

let me see....I have to have it fixed.This is where a

specailist cuts out a big part of your forhead in the shape of the wound and turns in around

at 180 degree angle and places it on the end of my nose where the hole is.So you have your

forhead connected to the end of your nose...like a coffee cup handle that is about the size of a nickle

in diameter...wow.I wore this for a few weeks in total social isolation.When it was removed it did it's job.

I had a piece of forehead skin growing into the hole in my nose.I have to shave the end of my nose.It

grows hair.It kind of looks like a jelly bean on the tip.I have a huge vertcle red scar from my

hairline to my eyebrows.Dr.Jack P. Gunter refused to pay to fix this much less refund my costs and

future surgeries.I had to file an IRS extension.I am $60k in debt.I used to be the lead singer and guitarist in a band.

I have not played since this tragedy.
