Kenmore Elite clothes washer

Our Kenmore Elite clothes washer had a pump go out after 3 years of use and we were charged $201.25 to have it replaced. I understand that the warranty has passed and I was not expecting it to be repaired at no charge but $201.25!!!! I contacted Sears and was told those are the charges have a nice day. No offer was made for a lower repair. Maybe I am to demanding. To pay half as much as you paid for the washer new for repair, that is crazy. What happened to a dependable product?

You must have bought the one that is our sister washer. We had ours worked on 4 to 5 times the first year and this is a second home and we are there 30 to 40 days a year. Now it has broken done with the error 1 for the second time this year and sears just told me to sell it and buy and new one because the new ones do not have the same problems anymore. So even Sears think they are BAD. I called 1-888-536-6673 and a manager would not even get on the phone.

Sears should go for a ballout if they think that we are going to keep buying their crap.

You should be glad you got 3 years. We got 1 month and it broke down adn then 4 months later again. we had it for 1 year and had 5 service calls on it and the service man FROM SEARS told me if it broke again, GET RID OF IT. 3/4 of all his calls or on KENMORE. It now has broke 2 more times adn i'm in teh 4 th month of teh second year and it now has cost my wife and I more in teh last two calls that a new one would cost us. My falt first for bying sears Kenmore and second For thinking or hoping that it would last more than 3 years. It's broke again and sears just told me{1-888-536-6673} that washers break more offen that I would think in it's first 2 years. WHY BUY SEARS??? My wife and I have more than 1200.00 in a 500.00 washer and this is our second home that we use 30 to 50 days a year and it's only my wife and I so how much do you think we the washer. I would guess 10 times a year. Sears has shown me THEY DON'T CARE, BUY OUR CRAP AND GET STUCK WITH IT. The Sears service men are only in our area on Tues. and Fri. if you can't take off work that week Wait till next week you don't need a washer that bad do ya?

I bought a Kenmore front load washer 5 years ago cost $799. It broke I called and they told me that they are not giving any more extended warranties for front loaders. They sent someone out to check it out. The basket is under warranty that $275 saved, the rest will cost $550 to fix. Now the same front loader sells for $529. They charged me $70.00 to tell me this. They left a coupon for $65 off replacement and it expires in 2 weeks. I called and got 10 different people or 800# to call as usual, until I finally got a manager of a sears store 30 miles from me, that said to ask for him when I am ready to purchase at any time and he will okay the coupon. I don't think I want to buy another anything at Sears. I've bought refurbished old washers for $100 that have last me twice as long. Poor quality appliances. My Kenmore fride died last year 4 yr old. Compressor and other stuff, compressor warrantied cost $230 for the other stuff. Went without a fridge for 3 weeks til they got it fixed. They don't care about you when you call.
