gift receipts

I returned a gift that I brought for a friend with a gift receipt =

provided by SEARS, LIVONIA , Michigan

Instead of scanning the gift receipt salesperson scanned the merchandize

Since the merchandize had gone on sale she was going to refund me approx =

$15.00 less then what I actually paid.

I complained at that point she scanned the gift receipt and my refund =

was the price that I paid.

I asked to speak to a Manager I'm still waiting for her to come..

My concern is that had I received that gift and took it back to Sears =

with a gift receipt I would have gotten

less money that it was purchased for. I feel that SEARS tried to steal =

money from me.

I'm sure I'm not the first person that this has happened to but how =

many times did they get away with it

How many presents have been returned with gift receipt, the consumers =

has been shortchanged

I'm not sure if this practice is followed by other Merchants but it need =

to be investigated and stopped.

I will follow this up with a call to our Better Business Bureau and =

some of our local TV stations.
