CompUSA warranty fraud

computer and related accessories CompUSA 14951 North Dallas Parkway Dallas, Te 75254 US compusa.com I purchased a computer on 05/01/00 and had problems from the onset. The very next day, 05/02/00, I returned to the Bloomington, MN store and was told that I needed to buy an additional item which I purchased and is included in the above amount. I also purchased a warranty and was told (since I travel frequently) that I can get service anywhere CompUSA has a store - I didn't need any paperwork - I just had to provide my name and phone number to get the service under my warranty. This is absolutely NOT true and I finally got service on 04/21/03 after many, many months of NO computer and visiting every single CompUSA in the areas of my travels. It was not until I was able to return to Minneapolis and the store of my purchase that I demanded some assistance! They took my computer and called a couple of days later telling me that my computer was "fried" (in their language) no good and I would be contacted for replacement. Nearly five years later, I have yet to be contacted by CompUSA about this item and my 2032.64 which was asked to be refunded to me as a result of their negligence in service. I have been in contact within the past year and they NOW want to replace my computer. It is way too late as I had to purchase a new one and did so when they didn't follow up on their responsibilities. I would like a refund in the amount of $2032.64.
