Moving Day Horror

Trucking Service Big Al's Moving Company White Plains, Ne US Now this happened a long time ago, but it still bothers me that this company is still in service. I was a single mom of a 4yr old boy and had just had my family purchase a new home for me in Putnam County. I was so happy and looking forward to starting a new life with my son and trusted this moving company to help me move my belongings from Eastchester to Mahopac. I hired Big Al's Moving Co and was given a set fee. After being 99% done with loading the truck, the workers told me to go on ahead to Mahopac and they would be right behind me..it was 4pm. They had about 15minutes to go. By about 7pm that night I was frantic that they still weren't at my new home so I called the owner "AL" He said they should be up there shortly. By 9pm I really lost it and when I called Al, he told me they weren't coming til the next day and that it would be alot more money than anticipated and he threatened me that if I did not pay it, he would hold my furniture and started charging me a "wharehousing" fee. It cost me an additional $1500. and the workers acted extremely unprofessional unloading my belongings. I had also taken out insurance for glass..and when I went to advise the trucking company that there were 2 broken glass table tops, they told me that the insurance did not cover that (even tho I paid about $250 add'l) and then on top of all that!! there were missing items....a vcr, stereo and tv. I WILL NEVER EVER recommend them and I have held onto this nightmare for too long!!
