Three strikes your OUT

Three strikes your OUT GE use to be a good, reliable company to deal with and their products were outstanding. I have owned washing machines, refrigerators, stoves and many small appliances with the GE label and was completely satisfied. I wish say that now. On April 21, 2006, I purchased my third GE washing machine even though my instincts told me not too. The GE washer was the only washer with the capacity that I needed for my family's laundry, and the features that I wanted. I purchased a service contract, as I always do, because even the best washing machines can have problems. I spoke with the salesperson and explained how my first GE washer turned out to be a total lemon and it took THREE YEARS of fighting with GE before they finally admitted that the washer was a lemon and replaced it. It still cost me money in the end. The second washer worked fine for a while and then started to have intermittent problems. I don't know how many times I had a serviceman in my home to fix the problem, but each time the serviceman came, the washer would work fine. The minute he left, the washer would start acting up. I finally replaced the second washer a year ago last April. I told the salesman about all the problems I had with GE washers and he assured me that no one has complained about the GE washer that his company has sold. Well, once again, I have a GE washing machine with an intermittent problem. I have fabric softener spots all over my laundry.? I have tried to figure out why this has been happening for the last 6 months, and I haven't been able to do that. I called GE Cares and the representative read from the booklet that I received with my washing machine. That was the first thing "I" did. She told me I wasn't using my fabric softener correctly. I told her I have been using the same fabric softener since before I purchased the washer and have been following the instructions given for its use. I then told her that the problem has only been going on for the past 6 months and not from the date of purchase. She told me to call for service. I then asked her, what do I do if the serviceman comes and the washing machine decides to work perfectly fine? She told me she didn't know. I told her the washer will work fine for days at a time and then suddenly I have fabric softener spots for the next few washes. She told me she didn't know what else to tell me. I now have to wait for the rinse cycle and add the softener so I don't get spots on my laundry. Thank goodness once of the features I wanted on the washing machine when I purchase it, was the extra rinse cycle because I often miss the first rinse cycle. This is definitely the LAST GE washer I will purchase. I don't have the time and money to deal with lemons or intermittent problems. I am tired of calling for service over and over again and having servicemen look at me like I need to be committed.
