Subject: Complaint - Mesh Computers Breach of Trading Standards - Order

no 101523

Dear Mr Riccardi,

On the 31st of January I purchased a Mesh GX600 - Extreme from your

website. It was delivered on the 2nd of February. I was extremely

surprised to find that it had MSI written all over it. There was no

mention of the fact that you "subcontract" your notebook production on

the product details, a fact which is incredibly misleading to the

public.

By the 6th of February the unit had lost total power and I booked it in

to be picked up from my office to be returned to MSI. (Collection

reference DJ791153). I had to cancel this pick up due to work

commitments and when I had my IT department look at it they discovered

that the fuse had blown in the plug which they thought was strange.

Then the Freeview stick that came with the notebook then started to

fail. The third fault occurred a day later. When I loaded my AOL

software the system crashed during installation and when I tried to boot

up on more that a dozen occasions the system would go any further than

the black screen which has MSI on it.

So I then called your customer service department and MSI again and the

pick up was rearranged (pick up reference DJ794398. Before I sent it

back I gently smudge the bar code on the back of the note book as a

check to see what you would do. I also took note of the serial number

on the unit and on the delivery box it came in. My cats had been sat in

the box while I had it and the corners of the box had been chewed. It

was picked up last Thursday 21st February.

Yesterday, 27th February, Tony from the Mesh notebook department called

me to say that MSI had replaced my notebook with a totally new unit and

also a new TV Card and it had been sent out to me.

It arrived at my office at around 3pm the same day. I got it home

unpacked it and what did I find. A) The original cat chewed box, which

even had a great lump of my cats hair in it! B) the smudged label on

the back of the notebook. The serial number on the old box matched the

unit which had been sent to me. Also included with the note book was

the attached letter confirming in writing that they had replaced the

unit, which MSI have not done! This is FRAUD! How many (less sharp)

members of the public are this company MSI conning! The only thing they

had done was to restore it to factory settings and put a new piece of

protective plastic on the lid, therefore attempting to make the old,

defective machine look like a new one.

As you can see from the above I have copied in several organisations

which I think will be very interested in hearing how your company and

your "subcontractors" are operating.

I demand a full refund put back on my credit card by the close of play

today and I would like confirmation of the pick up date when it has been

arranged by your people with MSI as I am sick and tired of the amount of

phone calls that I have to make to Mesh and MSI.

How many other people have MSI done this to, I think this needs to be

thoroughly investigated and personally I think you should be prosecuted.

I am sure you will want to talk to me about this issue in person so

please find my mobile number below.
