Walmart has UNFAIR pricing policy

iPOD Shuffle 1GB, Purple Walmart 4893 Lone Tree Way Antioch, Ca 94509 US walmart.com I purchased a TV stand online from Walmart.com and picked it up yesterday 2/26/08 at the Antioch store. While there I also tried to purchase an iPOD shuffle that Walmart had priced for $48.72 on-line. On-line showed that the item was temporarily out of stock and there was an option to locate a store that may have one. The Antioch store DID have some available. When I tried to buy one at the store, the price was $78.72 instead of $48.72. I showed the clerk and the manager the print out I had for the item on-line but they claimed that the stores do NOT compete with on-line prices and that she couldn't give it to me for $48.72. I showed her a print out of the same exact iPOD at Circuit City for $49.99 on sale but the manager claimed that Walmart does NOT price match. I could have ordered the item earlier in the day and picked it up at Circuit City for $49.99 if I knew that Walmart was so unreasonable. Needless to say, the TV stand that I purchased for almost $300 will be the FINAL purchase I will make at Walmart and I will tell EVERYONE I know of my experience with Walmart's unfair pricing practices. If the TV stand (which weighs 125 pounds) wasn't already in my van and I tried to buy the iPOD first, I can assure you that I would have cancelled my order for the TV stand and refused acceptance of the item and I would have disputed the charge to my credit card. VERY POOR Customer Service. Walmart is not a very accomodating store in my opinion. I have had a similar experience with Sears and I have not been back there in 2 years...and they are now in trouble financially. Hopefully Walmart will follow the same path since you have extremely poor pricing policies! I ordered the iPOD at Circuit City for $49.99 this morning and I'm picking it up AT THE Store on my way home from work tonight.
