John Wieland Home has structural and mold damage

We purchased a new home from John Wieland Homes in July of 2000 in Marietta Georgia. Just months after moving in, we started to have a lot of cracks in the walls. Wieland's warranty people told us to wait until the 1 year walk through and they would fix it at one time. After the 1 year was up they came and patched over the cracks and painted over them. Within a month the cracks came back. Wieland's people came back as many as five times to "repair" the cracks. This went on for another 1 1/2 years. I finally hired a structural engineer to see what the problem was. He had 3 pages worth of defects as well as building code violations. Our windows, doors and roof leaks, we had a four foot void under our basement floor, undersized framing joist, load bearing walls do not align up etc. The list goes on and on! The engineer found more problems in the attic when he found mold in and around our A/C unit and duct work. We hired an environmental specialist and contacted Wieland. They replaced the unit and duct work but the damage had been done. We now live with mold on our ceiling, under the carpet, between the walls, around our windows and doors. We have been so disappointed in Wieland and the way the have handled the problems. They even hired an engineer to address the issues and still have not fixed anything in the home that he said needed to be fixed. We had to go through arbitration and the arbitrator admitted that some things needed to be fixed but did not address the mold or building code violations. Wieland puts in his warranty booklet that you have to use Construction Arbitration Assoc. when you have a complaint. This is suppose to be a neutral third party, not someone designated by John Wieland. We new we were screwed at that point. And we still have not gotten anything fixed that the arbitrator said for them to fix and that was a year ago.
