I live in a small farming community about 6 miles outside of Porterville Ca. I am unable to recieve DSL in my location. I was refered by a friend to look into Clearwire internet service. In June of 2006 I approched an agent for Clearwire and explained my situation. I was informed by the agent that Clearwire would work in my area, I was informed that it would run a little slower then if I were living in town but I was willing to accept that.I agreed to a 2 year contract with the agent. Apon setting up the modem in my place of residence I discovered it didnt work at all. The next day I went back to where I had signed my contract and was told at that time that they would order a booster for my modem so I would be able to use the service. Needless to say the booster never arived. I went back on several occasions to try and return the equipment and get out of the contract and each time I was told I had to compleat my contract or it would go on my credit report. Clearwire has been taking nearly $50.00 a month out of my bank account since June of 2006 for a service that is of no use to me! I contacted Clearwire directly on 2-13-08 and made another attempt to get out of the contract, I was informed that because I had hooked to the internet through my laptop at my place of work in January of this year using my clearwire modem that I would have to pay a $180.00 early termination fee. I explained to the gentleman that his representative had fraudulantly sold me the service to begin with. He then told me that my contract was up in June and I should just finish my contract. I Asked that the account be froze untill I could find a way to resolve this problem, he agreed and then charged my account yet another $19.95 to suspend the account for 3 months, he then stated that was fine but now they are extending my contract by 3 months! Instead of it ending in June, it will be mid September before it ends. This is absolutely redicioulious, I am furious with this company, I demand a full refund since June of 2006 untill the present time. I have paid more then $900.00 dollars to a company who knew I lived in a non servicable location. At this point I will settle for nothing less then a full refund to my bank account as well as all termination fees waved.
