I recently joined a Cathay Pacific travel package, Discovery Taipei, from Kuala Lumpur to Taipei from 17th 21st January transiting via Hong Kong on CX 720 arriving in HK at 13:35 with 2 friends. The connecting flight was supposed to be

CX 420 taking off at 14:35 and suppose to arrive in Taipei 16:10. However, when we boarded the flight, we were stuck on flight CX 420 for 2 hours. Only after 2 hours, we were told to go to another flight and again after repeated promises of taking off from 16:00, it finally took at 18:00 and arrived in Taipei at 19:20. During these hours of delay in the two planes, we were told repeatedly that the flight would take off but we wasted more than 5 hours in the transit without any offer of food or proper arrangements to make the wait more comfortable. In addition, on arrival our transport in Taipei had to charge us extra charges for the extra wait to take us to our hotel. Thus the onward journey to Taipei from Kuala Lumpur saw my friends and I wasting most of the day in travel for what was suppose to be a short journey.

On the journey back, we checked in online, but on arrival, we were then told that the flight was delayed. Since, we checked in online and that we were on a Cathay Pacific travel package where all the contact information was available to Cathay Pacific, we were very annoyed that no attempt was made to contact us that the flight would be delayed and no attempt was made to contact us. Our flight from Taipei and transiting HK was CX 421 taking off only after 1 hour delay. At the time, we told that we were able to connect the flight from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur, CX 721 on time. While we were able to take the flight to Kuala Lumpur, we were very annoyed that our luggage had not been loaded on the flight. When we arrived in Kuala Lumpur, we were told that our luggage would only arrive the next day at 13:00 at KLIA. However, the luggage was sent to my home after repeated attempts to contact your delivery people at 23:00 on 22nd January.

This journey is definitely one of the worst travel experiences that I ever had. Not only did I have such a bad experience, but also recommended this package to my friends because of my trust in Cathay Pacific. We attempted to obtain some compensation for the delays, inconvenience and time wasted through out this trip. However, up to the present we have not any positive response from the company.

Anyway, It is very difficult to make a complaint . Cathay Pacific do not seem interested in customer complaints.

Frankly I am sick and tired of the service. And they dont seem to care.
