Computer Genius

It started on December 1 or 2, we took our gateway computer to computer genius

to have more memory added and they said

we needed a new mother board at a cost of $ 243.93. when we got it home and booted up it seemed fine. When I shut it down ( start/shutdown )everything seemed fine. Next morning when I tried booting it up it would not boot. Took it back was told it was the hard drive. Now we are upset because PC worked fine before taking it in. They agreed to put in new hard drive and copy old to new with no charge except for price of new hard drive. We agreed and they had it another 2 1/2 working days. We brought it home hooked up booted up worked, shut

down at bedtime tried to reboot morning of December 9, 2008 and nothing again. They did want another chance to " fix" but after taking a working PC in to them a week and a total of $329.48 and we ended up with a PC that won't even boot up I think it's time they admit they screwed up and we will be taking it to someone that's just a computer tech and see what they actually did to our PC.

Best I can tell you is beware if you take yours there.

I took this computer to another computer store and all they could figure out was computer genius had done something to my operating system but not what but they couldn't get it to boot up everytime either. After spending $329.plus to have memory added to a perfectly, but slow memory, working pc. we ended up with a piece of junk and had to buy a new one. Computer Genius Store had my pc for over a week and screwed it up and couldn't figure out what they did to it but the other store could figure out it was something

to do with the operating system. Not knowing for sure what it was or how much more it was going to cost we decided to just buy a new one. If anything should ever happen to it and Computer Genius is the only pc shop around and they would work on it for free I would see if I could find a high school kid to work on it.
