Mr. Emil Vicale / President of HeroBuilders.com A Division fo Vicale Corporation took my money but never sent me the dolls I ordered and paid for. They do not answer their phone and will only respond to emails with questions, when I answer the questions they never come back to tell me why they have not sent my order. I have been trying to either get my dolls or my 60.06 dollars back. This has been going on since September 12th. I paid using PayPal and filed a complaint with them. I have also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and with IC3 for internet fraud.

Paypal has cut off all association with herobuilders - mainly because Paypal has been swamped with hundreds of complaints where people paid out money and never received the merchandise.

The person who says "All you have to do is ask for a refund through PayPal" is wrong. PayPal won't investigate fraud reports over six weeks old. And the statement on the Herobuilders website says "Orders take six weeks to ship." Therefore, unwary consumers wait patiently for six weeks, start inquiring, and are told by PayPal "Tough luck. You didn't complain soon enough."

For what it's worth, I've received five assurances from Herobuilders.com that I'll get my money back. "Soon" "Next Friday." "This week." It never happens. I wonder how many complaints the FBI needs to investigate? They already have mine...

This company is ridiculous....I placed an order on 9/24/08 for $278.44 and have been ignored, treated poorly on the phone (when I did get an answer), and then continued to be blown off. Don't order from this site. I have filed a complaint with the CT BBB and will see what happens next. This company needs shut down!

I have also been scammed by this horrific company and have put complaints on every site possible and will continue to till they are shut down so no one else buys from Mr. Vicale. This place is a joke. I however received my doll and it seems that most of you who paid with paypal didnt get your doll because he just let the time run out for you to get a refund and paypal should catch on to that with this company. I paid with amex and maybe thats why I got my doll in a months time. But it looks like they threw it together in a day and it is terrible. Especially for paying 800.00 this doll looks nothing like my husband after it was painted, I asked for a Colts football uniform and I have a dark blue oversized shirt with stickers for the number, they couldnt put the name on it because the sculptress got sick so they just added a nice note in the box and pretty much said oops no name on this cause someone got sick. They forgot the stand I bought, they overcharged me 45$ on shipping, they stated that it was 50$ to send to my APO here in Baghdad and the paint job was horrific. Whoever works there should be fired. This place is a scam....the doll had on white capri pants and sneakers and it did not resemble a football player. The hat was bright blue and very large for the dolls head. I emailed Mr Vicale and he gave me some lame excuse about why things werent done and they dont give refunds and that he could only refund me on the hat since that he agreed was messed up. Nothing about missing the stand, the shipping overcharge and the name not being on the jersey. he made me pay extra for all these things and the doll total came to 800.00 and nothing but saying he would return 80$ for the hat. I hope this dont keep happenning to other people, but when I made my order I saw a list of alot of other people's orders so I am sure there will be alot more complaints here soon and he will not receive anymore business once he has ran away with all of our money. I would send a letter to paypal letting them know what is going on with this company to see what they could do about it. I have emailed him back and he still hasnt returned my emails about everything else I mentioned. What a class act this guy and his lame company is. Beware!!

I placed an order and paid for it on Sept. 10, 2008 for $313.00 through paypal. I have never received my merchandise. I filed a complanit through paypal and they will not help me because I filed it on the 46th day after payment and was told that I only have repercussions through paypal up to 45 days after payment. I have called and called, e-mailed several times and I can not get anyone to call me back or answer my e-mails. I have filed a complaint with the BBB in Ct. and they have advised me to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I need my money back and don't know how to go about it from here.

Herobuilders has had 1000's of orders and ships everyone in sequence. Your paypal order and money is safe with paypal and all you have to do is ask for a refund thru paypal. it is that simple, we do not have your info and cannot credit you back you have to follow the rules setup by paypal just like we have to folow their rules

I inadvertantly posted the following reply under Business, rather than Consumer. Here it is being posted under Consumer. I apologize for the error.

My complaint is the same as this one to HeroBuilders, except I only ordered one doll. I ordered it on Sept. 9th and paid for it using PayPal. I have emailed them two kindly worded complaints, one in Oct. and one in Nov. I did receive a prompt reply after the first complaint, and was informed my name would be put at the top of the list when they begin shipping them. They advised they were overwhelmed with the thousands of orders received. And that is apparently the reason for the delay.

I am going to call the BBB in the nearest town. I like the idea someone has of filing with the Atty. General's office, too, and will also do that if no response is received from HeroBuilders very soon. I also feel a call to a national tv station such as FOX NEWS, requesting a reporter do a story on the problem, confronting HeroBuilders, would be appropriate. That will be my next measure.

I have also been ripped off, I placed a order over 4 months ago with HeroBuilders. It seems like PayPal has now cut them off. I have also emailed the Connecticut Attorney General. This company will not reply to any emails or phone calls. I have been trying for quite some time. Gary

I, too, have been ripped off by this company! I ordered an action doll more than two months ago and never received it. I've emailed the company four times; no repsonse. I've called twice, left a phone number as directed with a promise to get a return call the next day: no call. I've made a complaint to PayPal and they've been unable or unwilling to help. I will lodge a formal complaint too.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone (or am I?). I placed an order for a doll Sept.18,2008, received a receipt of payment and as yet have received my doll or a refund. It's futile to call their phone number and they haven't responded to numerous emails. Next step is a registerd letter and then a complaint to the CT. Better Business Bureau. Good luck.
