Has anyone been charged with a membership automatic fee withdrawal from their banks by classmates.com? I signed up for the $20.00 life time membership at classmates.com for $20.00. Life time was not life time. They have now charged me for a gold membership at $39.00 a year. I have asked them to cancel the same day they stole my money and to refund my $39.00 so far they have refused. They say it is non refundable. I intend to fight it. BEWARE I have canceled my membership. They refused to let me do that say it is good till Dec. 2009.HELP

They are ripping people off.

Here is a copy of an email where I requested to know when they sent a reminder and how they sent it. Here is their response:

Welcome! Classmates® is now part of Memory Lane™! Hello Member, Thank you for contacting Member Care. We're more than happy to assist you. Because members are informed that their credit card will be charged on their renewal date during the initial payment process, we do not send an additional reminder. Many members prefer to reduce the paperwork and email that they must deal with on a regular basis.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please reply directly to this email and let us know.

Sincerely, Memory Lane, Inc. Nita

I totally agree! Classmatesd.com is nothing but a rip-off. I never authorized adfditional yearly memberships after my my "special one year membership offer". They charged my credit card $39.00 for an unapproved automatic continued membership! I want my money back! I was also told that it was non-refunable. That's Bull Shit! I intend to fight it as well and I've already canceled my membership with them.If anyone has any suggestions for fighting Classmates.com, I would be interested in hearing them.

I found the same thing on my credit statement today. If they refuse to cancel my membership and refund my money as well, I will contact the Ohio Attorney General and file a formal complaint against them. I will do this with the Better Business Bureau as well. This is a perfect example of BS business practices. GET THE WORD OUT TO EVERYONE, THIS IS BULLS%@T!!!

Purchased a Classmates.com one year membership when it was on special for $9.99 about a year ago-- I just found a $39 charge on my Visa Card (with no prior notification of an upcoming renewal)--To cancel the unwanted renewal I sent two e-mails to them but responses from them told me there were no refunds and that when I purchased the one year membership, I had agreed to "automatic renewal"--and that I should "enjoy" my one year renewal and change my renewal option to manual. I never knew at the original signup that I had agreed to any form of "automatic renewal". I have since discovered many forums on the internet about this same tactic and am now working with my credit card company to reverse the charge for the unrequested and with no

advance notice renewal that they force on people. Would love to find out if others have fought this company for using the same tactic and what results were obtained.
