AESSuccess (American Educational Services) swinles on student loans

In September 2008 I signed a promissory note with AES with regard to my student loan. The note is a legally binding loan agreement. I saved a signed copy for my records. I expected the loan to arrive in January 2009. In December the anticipated loan disappeared from my account online. When I contacted the customer services, I was told in an ultimate tone that they have no whatsoever mention of my promissory note and the loan in the AES system. They refuse to take any action on this issue, stating that they don't know about any note being generated and that the money lender in question no longer offers the student loan. The money lender discontinued offering new loans in October. However, I have a hard copy of a promissory note signed in September. When I mentioned that I am going to sue them if there is no action taken, the customer service associate said the note is not binding and the only thing I can do is forget about it and ask the university to fix me another loan. I am going to follow up on this situation with a lawyer.

I am handling a different problem right now. Where AES gave out personal information to a company that it should have sent it too. AES is unforgiving and refuses to give out any information. The people I have dealt with on the phones have told me that: they didn't have to give me information bottom line, that I didn't need to know information, I don't know anything, we are doing everything legal,

this wasn't even about my loans that I had to take out through them it['s about data. I can only imagine what hell I will have to go through if a problem occurs with the student loan.

I would say write to the state attorney generals office. I think the more complaints the AG receives the more likely they will look into companies or oganizations like AES.

Good luck.
