Aetna quotes a bait and switch

I applied for Aetna insurance because I thought their premiums sounded very reasonable for my age group. I am 59, do not smoke, have never been hospitalized, take 2 $4.00 medications for thyroid and borderline blood pressure, am very active, can work circles around most 20 year olds. After waiting for a month, I get approved for the insurance but at a premium which is $133.00 higher than what was quoted. Anyone my age is going to have something!! Most people have a lot more in their medical history than I do. This just smacks of a classic bait and switch and I am sorry I fell for it. I gave up a good insurance that was only $14.00 higher than this "policy' because I thought it was too high. Ha! stupid me!

I just experienced the very same situation: Premium higher than was quoted, PLUS, they now list a sore throat and ear infection I had one month prior to my application as a PRE-EXISTING CONDITION!!! Who does not get a sore throat once or twice a year???

Needless to say, I told them to pack up. I am keeping my current insurer...
