Failed SIM Activation

Bharti Airtel Madras (Chennai), Ta 600020 IN Airtel's customer service centre in Adyar is filled with representatives whose reaction when approached with any complaint is to lie that the problem is under control and would be sorted out in a couple of hours, which *never* happens. At the time of purchase, I was notified that my SIM would be active in 4 hours. 15 hours later I revisited the customer service centre, this time to be told that it would take two more hours. 6 hours later, it is still dead as a doornail. I will be taking this up with the local consumer protection agency.
