Netzero DSL Internet Service Netzero (United Online Services) US During the summer of 2008 I subscribed to Netzero DSL internet service. The service functioned perfectly until August of 2008, when my connection was disconnected. After many phonecalls, Netzero informed me that my signal was somehow cut off for unknown reasons, and in order to have it restored, I'd have to pay a $100.00 cancellation fee and have the service terminated, then reconnected. I canceled my service in September 2008 after arguing over the ordeal for over a month and many phonecalls and "escalated service tickets." This month(December) I received a bill for nearly $54.00. I called Netzero and they claim that I never canceled the service, despite having on record that I called in September and canceled(Uhhhh what? This makes no sense, right?). So the company states that they will now officially cancel my service and that I'm responsible for paying the outstanding amount. The company also never credited me the amount I paid in August and September for services that were no longer functioning. Additionally, the customer service reps are incredibly rude and speak very broken English. I normally wouldn't mind the language barrier, however when the reps don't understand your question or concern, they keep re-reading the scripted information. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told, "He's just going to say the same thing." It took my raising my voice and demanding a manager before I finally got one. Netzero service is horrendous.
