Verizon DSL Service Stinks

Verizon
US

I have tried for 2 months and at least a dozen calls to Verizon to get them to cancel the "additional" webspace I purchased. Each month they promise it's handled and nothing happens. No refund but the charge stays. It's amazing how easy it is to add the additional webspace but impossible to get it removed. To date it still isn't removed and their "on-line" idiots keep sending me to billing who sends me to Customer service who sends me to tech support who sends me to billing who sends me to CS and on and on. I really hate Verizon,

After ONE WEEK, my Mom's DSL service was finally restored. The customer service rep. (based in Virginia, USA) was very sympathetic to my Mom's dilemna and gave her a MONTH of free service. The SECOND technician who visited my Mom actually gave her his business card and stated to call him anytime she had a problem because the customer service runaround I and my Mom had been through was a problem he was aware of.

QUESTION: Verizon, you have talented people right here in the USA, why do you outsource a critical function like tech support to other countries where the people just read from a script and don't really know what's going on?

Verizon DSL Service Sadly Lacking

I have spent over FOUR HOURS on the phone and been bounced around to three different countries (Mexico, Phillipines, Canada) trying to get my Mom's Verizon DSL fixed. After ONE WEEK, a technician finally shows up and diagnoses the problem as a switch in the central office (I was an electrical engineer - I performed my own tests, gave them my results, but they still had to clown around with idiotic delays such as change the phone, power cycle the modem / PC, etc., which are some of the things I had already done and I had already told them I had done). The problem was discovered at 10 AM EST on 1/5/09 and now at 10:30 PM EST on 1/5/09, another call to customer service and they indicate that "they are working on it and should have it fixed in another day or so". What kind of lame service is this?
