boston products brand portable air conditioner

i bought a portable air conditioner last april but didnt use it till this summer after remodeling a bedroom. when i went to use it , it wouldnt work, so i called a heat/air tech who checked it and found a defective air compressor. i called walmart and told then that since i have the receipt can i have a refund, and the rep said yes. i goto walmart with product & receipt and they refuse to refund my 337.00 they said call the manufacturer, but the manufacturer is OUT OF BUSNIESS. i told walmart that it's THEIR problem, cuz they should back up the products THEY SELL. then they tell me the 90 day return policy crap--well, NOWHERE on the receipt is ANYTHING about a 90 day return policy. i sure hope they enjoy my 337.00 while i sweat and am rooked out of my money.

You didn't mention if the defective part could be replaced..if so replace the damn thing!
