Membership Bally Total Fitness Bally Total Fitness P.O. Box 1090 Norwalk, CA 90651 US www.ballytotalfitness.com I called to cancel our membership after our two year contract was up and was informed that despite our documentation that said it was a 2 year contract, it was actually a three year contract because we elected to get an additional 10% off for our third year renewal price. They said it would be over $700 to cancel plus an additional cancelation fee. This is a very clear case of their published code of conduct, published on http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=97646&p=irol-govConduct, Section III, Common forms of Criminal Conduct, D & F, that state that the "falsification of any part of a sales document" and "the deliberate offering of false information to members, prospective members, co-workers, or supervisors;". While this is supposed to lead to termination of the employee, I do not blame any specific employee for this mess. This is a blatantly illegal, immoral, and corrupt practice by a corporation. I am extremely surprised that a class action lawsuit has not been filed. There is a clear case of a certain class of people being interested and willing to stop Bally’s. I received a call from Ballys and was told that my monthly payment was past due and told them I sent a cancellation request. I was then told that they had not received my cancellation request. I said I would mail the request again, at that time that person story change. I was told they had receive my cancellation request but that my request was denied. I was furious and I said, even with a signed contract Ballys could not deny me my cancellation request. A week later I received a form that disclosed the cancellation fee's over $2,500 to cancel!! My membership for 3 years would cost me 1,080 ,so I would have to pay three times as much to cancel? ridiculous!! I am interest to join a class action law suit.
