I received a letter from this company informing me that Comcast Communcations' records indicate that I was "seriously past due" to the order of $401.00 on an account that I know for fact I had closed out in good standing in January of 2007. To make things worse, the 800 number provided seems unattended and completely automated. The letter and their website looked legit, and I'm still not entirely sure if this company is a fraud/phishing scam, or merely corrupt/incompetent. If someone knows, please let me know!

Anyway, I contacted Comcast immediately, only to find out that not only did I not owe them anything -- Comcast actually owed me a credit (the refund of a pro-rated charge)! Well, that was cool to find out, but I'm afraid that this company may report me to a credit bureau. I have just this week received Comcast's mailed copy of my final bill, which I will be copying and sending with a stern letter to this company, as per my legal adviser's... er, advice. I will report back when I get results.

I too received a card from cpa about a past comcast bill. I paid the bill and sent them proof that the bill was indeed paid. I just received another statement in the mail stating that I have been reported to the NCB. How can this be resolved before more damage is done to me
