Servis uk -- No Service!!!

My dad is a pensioner (82 years old) and therefore on a low income. He purchased a much-needed washing machine from service via a catalogue where he could pay weekly.

Washing machine broke time and time again with one fault or another. As he took insurance out on the washing machine I forced a brand new replacement once the washing machine refused to spin and they wanted to send yet another engineer out to repair it. After all there is only so many times a washing machine can be fixed.

Going through the insurance for repairs was stressful as it took over 5 months (Oct 07-Jan 08) for a replacement to be sent.

Again from reading here it seems we were not on our own as the van drivers did not turn up / arrived just when they wanted really. My dad lives alone therefore he would wait for the washing machine/engineers to turn up all day, often without being able to get out for fresh air/ socialise / have a hot meal!

The washing machine arrived Jan 08 this year the guys refused an old man of unpacking and placing the washing machine into the space. My dad never asked for them to plumb/fit it in just to move it from where they placed it.

It wasn't their job they told him.

My dad rang a local shop and they charged him a 35 pound call out to unpack and attach the washer to the existing pipes. When the washing machine was switched on it didn't work! ! !

Yet more phone calls. Servis wouldn't touch it because the guarantee hadn't been activated. I got onto the insurance company they wouldn't replace it without an engineers report! The washing machine was brand new no washing had been washed in the bl**dy thing.

Engineer arrived fiddled with it and got it working phew ERM not!

August 08 and the washing machine wont start. Been trying to get through on the phone without success for over a week. I have emailed and now I am hounding them at every available opportunity.

Sorry if my post is long I am so annoyed and upset and I cant voice my anger at Servis direct.

My advice is to never ever, ever purchase from Servis and to spend a few extra pounds where possible even if this means shopping around. money, time and life is wasted on this company.
