Jenn Air Dual Fuel Double Oven Range
|
US In July 2008, two months after purchasing a Jenn Air Dual Fuel Double Oven Range, I ran the self cleaning cycle on the lower oven. When the cleaning cycle was completed, the door would not unlock and the control panel flashed "locked." A technician inspected it and stated that a new locking mechanism was needed. Apparently the part was not readily available (another big dissapointment as I had read that it was easy to service and obtain parts for Jenn Air products). The part took over a month a half for it to arrive. The technician came out again but stated that the part did not need to be installed after all since the control panel was no longer flashing "locked." However, when I tried to run the self-cleaning again a few days later, the self cleaning cycle would not engage. Now I'm being told that I need a new digital display board and that I have to wait for that part to be located (unknown how long that will take). Has anyone experienced this problem with this oven before? Will this continue to happen every time I run the self cleaning cycle? The technician says that there is a gap under the control board and sometimes moisture shorts out the board. This sounds like a design flaw to me.
