Ford Multi-Function Switch Defects
|
Ford Escape Crossroads Ford 2333 Walnut St Cary, No 27518 US www.crossroads My Ford Escape is a 2003. In 2006 I replaced the multi-function switch because the windshield wipers would come on when I used my turn signals. Now they just told me that I need to replace the multi-function switch again. That would mean that my car would have three multi-function switches in 5 years. I also put in two alternators in less than 2 years; that is 3 alternators in the same time period. There is obviously something wrong with the wiring in the vehicle. And since my car has only been repaired by the dealership where I bought it, I think that they should replace this multi-function swith at no cost or at least give me the part for free. Even the repair manager says that most people do not have to replace the multi-function switch during the life of the vehicle. They do not even stock this part, the repair is needed so infrequuently. And the last time they did this repair, it was on a 1998 vehicle; one that is twice the age of mine. I am more than disappointed at the reponse I have received to this situation. And I regret that I am responsible for a close friend buying Ford products for both of his children. One has already replaced his Ford with a Honda because he had a lot of repair problems. But I argued passionately that his experience was an anomaly. Now, here I am in the same position and not being treated well by the dealership. It is very sad for someone who really wants to buy American. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Thursday, 28-Aug-08 12:01:18 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
