Congoleum DuraCeramic Flooring

http://www.congoleum.com/ Congoleum P.O. Box 3127 Mercerville, NJ 08619-0127 US Congoleum DuraCeramic tiles are neither Durable nor Ceramic. We had our kitchen floor re-done in DuraCeramic expecting a durable tile with a ceramic finish. What we found is that dropping virtually any object on the tiles chips it and, because the underlay beneath the very thin and the patterned laminate on top is an off white color, the chip is eminently visible. We've also experienced scratching on the tiles and ground in dirt that is almost impossible to clean within the first year after the installation. The manufacturer offers no warranty on the tiles' tendency to easily chip and scratch with the movement of furniture, like a kitchen chair, or dropping a kitchen item like a fork or spoon on it. After a little over a year after the installation, we are about ready to replace the entire kitchen floor. This is definitely not a product for a kitchen, and the manufacturer ought to publicize that fact. We contacted Congoleum and they inspected the floor. They concluded that it is not a result of a manufacturing defect and it is not covered under warranty. It may not be a manufacturing defect, but it is a lack of quality in their product. What a joke to name this product DuraCeramic.
