Travel priceline.com 800 Connecticut Avenue Norwalk, CT 06854 US www.priceline.com I made a reservation with priceline.com this past Saturday 8/16/08 to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for air, hotel, travel insurance, and transfers to and from the airport. The total was $636.85. Today, the Monday after, I found out I could not take the time off from work, so I called priceline.com, and at first it seemed like they were giving me a refund, but then I got the bad news. They were going to refund me $162.53 of my $636.85. They said they could NOT refund the hotel and the $162.53 was what was left after the airline took $150 for cancellation plus the non-refundable cost of the travel insurance. I called the hotel and they told me they could not cancel the room and that I needed to call priceline.com to do that. This was TWO DAYS AFTER booking! Are there no laws to protect the consumer from outfits like this? I told priceline.com to forget it and that I would keep the package if all I was getting back was 25% of my money.
