Westinghouse pathetic warranty

Westinghouse LTV-37w2 HD LCD TV Westinghouse Digital 12150 Mora Drive Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670 US www.westinghouse.com Don't buy a Westinghouse TV. After only about 50 hours of use my LCD TV failed. The screen comes on for about a second and then blacks out. Sound can still be heard but no picture. I've tried all the ports without success. Calling for warranty support is pointless. After getting the run around for weeks I finally got an RMA number to return it for warranty service. That sounds great until they tell you that you have to pay to have the unit packed and shipped!! I was just quoted $300 to do that. I've been around the block several times with the "supervisor" at the toll free number with the same results, they won't pay for it. There is a warranty authorized place I can take it that is about 1.5 hours away. When I called there, the tech was completely honest with me. He said that out of the last 100 Westinghouse TVs that were brought in for service they were only able to repair about 10% there. He said the support is non-existent and they won't ship parts. So the moral of the story is that if you have a problem with your Westinghouse TV you are pretty much out of luck if you aren't close to California. They claim to have 1 year parts and labor warranty, but that's pretty much false advertising as they won't service their product at all. I feel deceived, scammed and taken. I now have a $700 boat anchor and Westinghouse is doing nothing about it. I got my TV back and it's working (so far) but my expectations are very very low for the long term. I was praying it would fall off the back of the truck and I would get a settlement of sorts but alas my prayers were not answered. I still feel wronged that I had to pay a third of the value of the TV to receive service on something that was defective and completely out of the scope of my control. I can assure you (and I urge you to do the same) I will NEVER buy a Westinghouse product again. Let's exercise our rights as consumers. AFTER JUST 18 MTHS THE TV IS DEAD. THEY PICKED IT UP THE DAY AFTER I CALLED- HOWEVER, IT'S BEEN OVER 3 WEEKS AND ALL I GET ARE EXCUSES.THEY BLAME WESTINGHOUSE - STATING THAT IT TAKES OVER 30 DAYS TO GET A RETURN AUTHORIZATION FROM THEM BEFORE THEY CAN PROCESS ANYTHING. NO TV, NO OFFER OF A LOANER, NO APOLOGIES. THIS THE WORST EXCUSE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN. THE 1ST SERVICE PERSON I SPOKE TO SAID THEY NO LONGER EVEN CARRY THAT BRAND OR STYLE- SO WHY AM I BEING MADE TO WAIT WHILE CONN'S & WESTINGHOUSE DICKER OVER WHO IS RESPONSIBLE ??? AFTER THIS FARCE IS RESOLVED I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH CONN'S OR WESTINGHOUSE AGAIN -IN FACT I'M VERY CLOSE TO DEFAULTING ON WHAT'S LEFT OF MY LOAN. THEY CAN KEEP THEIR WORTHLESS TV & THEIR EQUALLY WORTHLESS EXTENDED WARRANTY !!!!
