Direct Buy complaint

I called Direct Buy to make arrangements for a 'Visitor's Pass'. In order to become a member of Direct Buy, you have to go for a 'Visit' so you can find out about the service and sign up. They won't tell you the membership fee, or the manufacturers you can buy from, until you go on the Visit. They called me back and asked some questions. One of the questions was - are you married. I told them I was married. They then told me that my husband had to come on the visit as well and they could not book a visit without him. What???? I make the purchase decisions for the furniture we were looking for and my husband works and doesn't have time to take off to go to Direct Buy. I told them this but they wouldn't book a visit unless he could go too. This is not a company I will ever do business with. What a ridiculous rule. It's clearly a scam - they try to get you in to visit so they can pressure you to pay high membership fees on the spot.
