Water Heater Rage
|
Sears Kenmore Power Miser 12 Sears Indianapolis, IN US Our less than 7 yo water heater spewed water all over our basement on 4/24/08. We called our usual plumber ASAP who determined it needed replacing & called Sears water heater hotline for warranty info. Yes, it was under warranty (12 yrs) but a sears technician had to verify it. On 4/25, a tech came out and in 2 mins said--Yep it needs to be replaced and it is under warranty..you will have a new one within 48 hrs. GREAT! Sears called same day and I paid $250+ over the phone for installation on 4/26. 4/26-no word, no calls--house full of guests. 4/28 no word--I called installer. 4/28--installer called to say he was on his way to pick it up at the store. 2 hours later--oops--it was never ordered and there is not one there. It will be in on 4/30. I have now talked with installers, water heater hotline staff and supervisors. No one seems to know what the others are doing and no one seems to care. We can't shower, wash clothes, run dishwasher, etc. Here's the kicker--they said they made a mistake when I paid and we actually owe $50 more because it is a 75 gal tank--a fact they knew when I paid earlier and discussed over at least 10 phone calls with different people. I will NEVER EVER purchase anything from Sears again.
