Hughes Satellite poor service
|
HN7000s US I have had Hughes Satellite now since July of 2007. I had to pay $300 for the dish of which $100 was rebated to me by Hughes and I was supposed to get $50 rebate from Elite Satellite through whom I purchased the program. Elite did not honor the rebate because the wrong receipt were sent even though a representative of there company said that if I would resend the correct receipts I would still get the rebate. All that said, I will have to say that Hughes is the biggest rip-off where internet service is concerened. They have the slowest download and upload speeds I have ever seen. Dial-up would have been faster. However, having had cable internet where I used to live and no cable available where I live now..Hughes seemed to be the only alternative for me. WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! In addition to being so incredibly slow, they have a FAP (free access policy)that limits how much you can download during a specific amount of time..This limit is around 400MB...if you exceed this THEY REALLY SLOW YOU DOWN!!! I was never informed of this policy when signed up. I cannot however, stop this service without incuring a fee for early termination..about $175. I am stuck with the world's worst ISP and my blood pressure goes up every time I see there commercial on tv where the girl says you can get high-speed internet service with Huges Satellite. That’s Frequently Asked Questions on their Fair Access Policy, Copied Strait form their FAQ is “So why is my plan referred to as “unlimited” if my high-speed access is indeed limited? Hughes guarantees it’s customers unlimited internet access … Not unlimited high-speed access.” Sorry Hughes Net, You should have put some more thought in to that excuse, This is a Piss Poor Excuse, and if taken to a court of law, Will stand against them.
