ADT Rebate Ripoff
|
ADT ADT US ADT sold me a security system and during the sale process, part of the deal was a $200 rebate. I filled up the form (I had to call them to request the form as well) and have followed up multiple times with them. every time, they tell me that it's in process. It's been 10 months now and I am pretty sure they don't mean to pay this. I think this whole thing was a rip off. I was supposed to get a 100.00 visa card rebate. As of 3-3-11 I am still fighting with them to get my rebate. It is a joke. I purchased system in December 2009 and STILL have not received rebate check, despite ADT confirming in February 2010 that my rebate "application" (which I only learned was required to file after inquiring myself) was complete and in progress. According to the February 2010 confirmation email, ADT was going to send a follow-up email once my rebate check was maled out. They never did (I've search Inbox and all other emals from ADT are there). Instead, I happened to think about the status of my rebate the other week, which, by that time, I wasn't even sure if I had received and forgotten about it or what. When I checked on reabte status online, I learned that ADT had apparently mailed out the check in April 2010. But I never received. Remarkably, the day after checking on the status of my rebate, ADT sent me an email informing me that the check had been sent but not cashed. The email asked me to either request ADT reissue the check by calling a toll free number or by sending an email. I sent an email requesting that ADT reissue the check. In response, ADT sent an email telling me to call customer service. I called the customer service line, but the office was closed (early). I called again the next day and got a live rep. He infomred me that it would take 2-3 weeks to reissue check b/c they must verifiy that it has not been cashed (EVEN THOUGH ADT HAD ALREADY SENT ME AN EMAIL STATING THAT THE CHECK HAS NOT BEEN CASHED!!!!). I think ADT's stratgey is delay, delay, delay and make things as difficult as possible until the customer either gives up or even forgets what's due to them. Been 5 months. they tell me a claim has been filed. What a rip-off ADT is. It appears the only way they can sell a security system is to lie. What is worse? the thieves we are trying to keep out....or the ones (ADT) we are depending on to keep thieves out. Still trying to figure out who the thieves are. I CALLED SEVERAL TIME BECAUSE THE WEB SITE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK, EVER. VOICE MESSAGES ONLY. THEN FINALLY WHEN THE WEB SITE WAS AVAILABLE, I SENT EVERYTHING IN ONLY TO BE DENIED BECAUSE OF THE TIME FRAME. WHAT A JOKE. But i did receive my rebate finally. What i did was go to the adt website and check the status of my rebate. They had the contract and all that where i could see what i had sent in. They even had the envelope that i mailed all my paperwork in. It said forward to and then another address. And apparently they arent going to take the time to actually forward it for us so i printed all the documents out and resent them all to new address. I got the rebate not long after. Basically it's breach of contract! From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Monday, 02-Mar-09 09:11:41 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
