SONY DSC-W5 Product Scam!

For those of you considering purchasing a new digital camera to capture your family memories, please think again before buying a SONY! My camera SONY DSC-W5 has been nothing but a problem. The lens doesn't always retrach, the low battery signal is constantly a problem and the pictures are not that great. You have to have A LOT of bright light! Even with all the different setting options.

I've charged the batteries and still the above problems exist. After researching this camera model online it's clear there are many other families experiencing the same problems. This camera was not a cheap purchase. I think it should be recalled! I hope those of you with the same problems will take the time to write Sony to encourage a recall!

My DSCW5 is four years old and the lens retract problem just occurred. Sony wants $111 to repair it. That makes my camera cost $436 and no guarantee that the same problem wont recur. It takes good pictures and I liked the camera very much right up until it quit. SONY should acknowledge their responsibility and recall this model. Too bad we can't start a class-action suit. I'm not inclined to buy another SONY camera after this experience.
