Pure Med Spa Terrible Service

Laser Hair Removal Pure Med Spa 116 Spadina Ave, Suite 100 Toronto, On M5V 2K6 CA www.puremedspa.com I have been a patient of Pure Med Spa (Pure Laser Hair Removal & Treatment Clinic) for laser hair removal for months and have had a shockingly poor experience with their management and technicians and their services. My calls to the new CEO Bill Korner (416-408-0305 ext. 110 in Toronto or 770-475-1300 in Georgia at Sedona Med Spas) and others in their head office in Toronto are not returned, requests for a refund have not been granted, they continuously break commitments made to me with respect to my treatments and requests for my treatment log, I have been quite badly burned by their lasers on a few occasions. I was told they have been going through a "restructuring" which includes changes to top management, location managers and technicians and are trying to improve. But I have not seen any evidence of the improvement thus far. I'm curious to know if anyone has already, or is thinking about launching a class action lawsuit against Pure Med Spa in the U.S. or Canada. Thank you. Not only they took my money and never gave me the treatment I have already paid for but it is almost impossible to reach anybody in that company. Has anyone started a class action? I think there is enough people and complaints, we should do something about it. It is not fair that they are still in business and we are all f..... I was to start receiving treatment in June of '08, which I received one treatment. I went for my next scheduled appointment and they refused me treatment due to a rash which I had asked about at my first treatment and was told it was fine. After months of arguing with them, I went for my second treatment in December to find the location closed. I have tried calling and left messages for no one to return my calls. I have tried calling again numerous different numbers but they are all unavailable. I have tried emailing and have had no one return the emails. So now I am out almost $1000 for only 1 useless treatment. So let's talk class action lawsuit. I now filed an OEX to attach to their funds to get my money as they have never responded! I just got in the mail this week that they are going bankrupt and doing a quick sell, meaning they stay in business but do not have to pay any judgment, liens or debts. They have done this 3 times. They stay in business and transfer the leases, only changing their name! They are crooks, that is why they do not respond to any complaints or the court. What can we do, I am not letting this go? Long story shor, I prepaid for $1000 worth in botox, in Dec 08 and booked an appointment for Jan 3rd. I was called 2 hours prior to my appointment to cancell. Every time that I call trying to resched I get different excuses. Finally today the manager said I could do and complain all I wanted but I was not getting a refund (or treatment)... Should we really just sit there and do nothing? From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Saturday, 24-Jan-09 19:52:35 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On Thisi also started treatment that i prepaid for at pure meds spa. my treatment was never completed which it doesn't seem to work or even be worth what i paid. i was told back in november 08' that i would recieve a refund, i was told to be patient which i did now after never hearing back from them i started persistantly calling after not having my calls returned now, i just received a letter saying "they cannot accomodate my request for refund" there was no reason given as to why i cannot get my money refunded. i need help or advice as to what to do next because this is not acceptable and i won't rest until this matter is resolved. He is a software developer that has never been employed by PureMedSpa. He was kind enough to forward my information to Anna at 678-954-5300 at PureMedSpa who was very helpful in addressing my refund issue. Calls to customer service have not been returned. If any one drums up a class action, count me in! I signed up with Pure Med Spa at the Great Mall Milpitas in California 2 years back. Ever since they have cancelled a lot of my appointments just one hour before the appt time when I had already shaved and applied the numbing cream. The appointment that they give after that would not be by my choice of time because of which I either had to take a half day off or leave my important meetings to get the treatment done. They also promised to give me free numbing cream when I signed up for the treatment and when I would go there 40 minutes earlier the assistant there would refuse it and because of which I had to buy.. but later they stoped selling it and I wanted to cancel the treatment since I couldnt bear with the pain which they did not offer. BUT after 3 months of not taking the treatment I was in a shock to see my skin with lot more hair that I ever had before the treatment. It probably could have been because of constant shaving and not following by treatment due to cancellation by them. I complained about this to the Manager on site and they convinced me to sign up for more treatments saying that my hormones are to be blamed and they showed me articles from webmd.com to proove that shaving does not increase the hair growth. But the ridiculous part was that when i signed up the same manager told me that the treatment is only effective if I do it withhing 4-6 weeks especially for face and due to their constant cancellation i would not get treamtment for almost 9-12 weeks. When I questioned them about this they would beat around the bush saying its ok the hair thats killed is gone anyways so there is no need to worry. So they keep moulding their rules as per their convinience. The manager also once told me that their policies and research results keep changing so they used to promoting 4-8 weeks treatment and that now they dont be adamant about it anymore. I am not if this cpompany is credible anymore since they keep wavering what they say. Now they have closed their location that I have been going to past 2 years even without informing me. I have an appontment next week and I just called today to confirm and i get a msg of phone number does not exists. So I go to the store to find it CLOSED. This is so frustrating that I actually want my whole money back !! $3800. Its been a thorough displeasure dealing with them and not to mention the ineffectiveness of their treatment. I would definitely like to file a lawsuit against them but my case alone is not strong enough. He and his wife Alyx are notorious for not paying their vendors and employees. Yet they live in Country Club of The South (gated community - million dollar + homes) drive the best cars, boast of 5-star travel, fly in private planes, etc... Here's their formula: You work your butt off for them, then they stiff you when you are no longer useful (or in an employee's case, when they decide they want to leave the company), then they tell everyone how awful you are as their way of justifying not paying. I can't even count the vendors and employees I know who they've ultimately screwed over. I'd be all-in on a class action suit made up of THOSE people! On Monday November 3, 2008 Pure Med Spa closed approximately 30 of its med spa locations, with no notice to customers who have pre-paid for services in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Ontario Canada, Missouri, Chicago, South and North California. Pure Med Spa also fired all the med spa staff in these locations and all their regional managers with no notice and no pay. Pure Med Spa continues to operate around 30 med spas hoping to continue to make money by selling pre-paid treatments before trying to close those remaining med spa locations too. I stopped by to grab a few pamphlets for an interested friend, and there were moving trucks GALORE outside. I got a strange feeling it may be the spa because of the beds that were being rolled onto the trucks, so I went it to see for myself. So I can confirm that I did see them moving things out. Shady, shady SHADY!!!! Needless to say this has prompted me to do some digging. Somehow I'm not surprised, but their corporate HQ has apparently moved out of Toronto to Alpharetta, GA: 3440 Preston Ridge Rd Alpharetta, GA 30005 678/954.5300 ..I have a sick feeling these rumors of non-reimbursement are true, so let's discuss that class action lawsuit:-) From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Saturday, 01-Nov-08 16:51:37 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI am another victim of Pure Med Spa. Having seen countless complaints about Pure Med Spa on line, I am doubtful I will receive any satisfactory answer from them when I will try once again to reach its head office on Monday. How long woiuld it take to file a lawsuit against Pure Med? The time I spent trying to get ANYONE from Pure Med to resolve the problems their manager has caused and the stress I got from this that aggrevated my skin problem need some kind of compensation.
