Wells Fargo is a rip off

I had an automatic payment for my car insurance that comes out of my checking account. I put a CASH deposit in first thing in the morning and they put my deposit in after the payment for my insurance so they could charge the overdraft fee of $34.00. Wells Fargo and the oil companies must be working together to steal as much money from you as they possibly can.

They decided to put a 2 week hold on a large deposit I made and then charge me 35 dollar overdraft feeson every item that came through while they were using my money, causing a domino effect in my account. Then another company that used a wells fargo account bounced a check they wrote to me that I deposited causing other items of mine to incur overdraft fees to me and they also had the nerve to charge me an NSF fee for that check.

After dealing with Wells Fargo for many years without a problem, I now have to agree that they are out to steal your money by any means necessary.

I opened a savings account recently that was free as long as I had $75.00 a month automatically transferred from checking to savings. Everything was going smoothly until I hit a rough patch and needed some extra cash so I transferred $600 from savings to checking and stopped the automatic $75 transfer from checking to savings because I didn't want any overdrafts in my checking account. This left me with $55.00 in my savings account. Well, what I didn't realize (not saying they didn't tell me cause I can't remember) was that by deciding to put my savings plan on hold for a while, Wells Fargo started to charge me $10.00 a month on my savings account until my balance reached $25.00, then they took $5.00 a day until the balance hit zero, and THEN, you guessed it, after draining all the money out of my savings account they hit me with an overdraft charge of $28.00. Whoever heard of overdrafting your savings account? I felt like I had been jacked!

This same savings account was paying me something like .07 cents a month in interest and because I couldn't afford to keep up the pace of saving that Wells Fargo dictated to me,they jacked me for over $80.00 in fees. After complaining to my branch manager, he gave me back $35.00 and said he couldn't give it all back because his computer doesn't go back far enough. He offered to change my account to another "free" account that only required a $25.00 monthly transfer and he told me that after the transfer is made you can always just transfer it back to checking and still be within the guidelines, but who wants to go through all that?

I am very upset that Wells Fargo, as well as other banks are using these kinds of products to prey on their so called "customers." I have been very good at avoiding fees and penalties over the years, so if they got me, I know they are making a ton of money off of less disciplined people and that is a shame, for they are the ones who need their money the most.
