Our local ADT sales rep lied to us and used the "Bait and Switch" tactic on us. He offerred us a month-to-month service contract which he said could be cancelled at any time and then put us on a 2 year contract with an early termintaion fee of $500. Additionally, a mysterious $5.00 per month "maintenance fee" appeared on our bill with no warning and no authorization. We were also promised 2 months free for being a new customer but that wasn't granted until we actually called customer service. We've had an ongoing battle with ADT over our contract which SHOULD BE month to month as promised. ADT customer service simply shuffles you from one person to the next. Every person tells you the same thing, they are powerless to help. We've been fighting for almost 6 months now to get what we were told we were purchasing. We have talked to countless managers and supervisors at ADT. In no uncertain terms, ADT customer service told us they are in the business of making money and therefore would not alter our contract. They said we signed, so tough luck! My personal experiences with ADT have proven to me that they are an unethical business out to get the consumer for every dollar possible using whatever tactics are available. I cannot recommened this company to others. They protect your home while stealing from your wallet.
