Net10 does NOT keep its promises!

Net10 Pre-paid cell phones Net10, a/k/a Tracfone US http://www.net10.com I purchased a Net10 phone in mid-March 2008 for #30, and it included 300 minutes. On March 25th I received a text message from Net10 that stated I would receive 100 extra minutes upon the purchase of my first airtime card, which I bought on Friday, 4/11/08. Well, I never did get the 100 extra minutes, and when I called Net10, the first clerk I spoke with said she would give me the 100 minutes I was promised. A couple of minutes later she cut off my call without explanation. So I called again, and the second clerk I spoke with said he wouldn't give me the 100 minutes as it supposedly was included in the 300 minutes that came with the phone. I told him he was wrong, and that Net10 text-messaged me and said that the 100 minutes would come with my first airtime card. Even after I gave him proof that the 100 extra minutes was supposed to come with that card, he wouldn't budge. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am waiting for them to help me. In the meantime, I would suggest that if anyone out there is thinking about buying a Net10 phone, think very carefully. I'm going to let my minutes run out on this one and will switch to another company - one that knows the importance of keeping promises! On two separate occasions I have been placed on hold, ask to enter several number codes into the phone and told to wait 1-4 hours for the phone to be activated...still 3 days later the phone is still non-active. I got the phone because of the affordability and just the simple need to have a phone in case of emergencies when I am out with my daughters. The $20 I paid to have the minutes added had to be saved in incruments, as we are on a very tight budget, not only am I out $20, but the phone is just sitting on my dresser and I have to see it everytime I leave and think about such a bad decision.
