Golden Valley Auto Sales Ripped Me Off!

automobile Golden Valley Auto Sales 9010 Olson Memorial Highway Golden Valley, mn 55427 US www.goldenvalleyauto.com I found the car I wanted on line and went to purchase from "Lucky Lenny" at Golden Valley Auto Sales in Golden Valley Minnesota. It was a 2007 Solara Convertible with only 16,800 miles. The driver rear quarter panel had a slight ripple in the paint that Lenny agreed to fix. The car was also missing key remote, floor mats, owners manuals, convertible boot and the GPS disc. He wanted me to buy the car and bring it back when the weather warms up so they could fix the paint. I told him I will not accept the vehicle until the paint is done right. He asked for a deposit which I gave him $500 pending acceptable paint work and the other missing items. I never saw or signed a purchase agreement but we agreed on price. The car came back after the paint worse than it was when I first saw it. They painted over the ripples thinking it would hide them and I would accept the car. They agreed the job was not right and sent it back to the painter. I asked for my deposit check but Al Crain the owner assured me it will be done right the second time. I agreed to a second try. Al promised to sell me another Solara convertible with less miles for the same price. Turns out there was damage on that car as well and the price was not the same it was $1200 more and didn't have GPS or HID headlights!! I agreed to wait for the car I originally wanted. Another week goes by- the car comes back with a complete paint job!! Not just the paint flaw but the entire car was repainted. The car was ruined. The door seals were covered in paint, the Toyota letters were crooked falling off the trunk, there were taped paint lines all over the car, swirl marks in the paint and the saddest part is the original paint flaw was still not fixed. Simpley painted over again! Lenny asked the painter about the ripples and was told the car had four coats of paint and they might be able to be sanded out. This car was less than one year old with only 16,800 miles. The car was unsalable in the condition it currently was in. Three weeks had now gone by and I wanted nothing to do with this dealer. I asked for my money back which Lenny immediately agreed to. Lenny said they will have to send a check out because Al Crain had accidently deposited my deposit check. "Lucky Lenny" has washed his hands of the deal and simply says that Al Crain or "Barb" have to send the check. I have left many phone calls to Al Crain the owner but none of them returned. I went to their dealership but Al is never there or is hiding to avoid conflict. I leave notes for him but never a call. I never got my $500 deposit back as promised. I leave him messages continually but still no refund. I have filed complaints with the Minnesota Attorney Generals Office and The Better Business Bureau. I have discovered that many others have had similiar problems some much more serious than mine. I have been told by other dealers that they have a reputation of selling cars with hidden defects. I have been told that franschise dealers will not work on their cars because of certain business practices. I also found out that cars can have serious issues even though it is not reported on CarFax! I hope that many people research Golden Valley Auto Sales before buying and decide to go to a reputable dealer. I was lucky to be local to this dealer and able to see the hidden flaws before taking delivery. Many people that buy from them on line have to deal with the disappointments after the vehicle is delivered and paid for. I have been lied to and taken advantage of by Golden Valley Auto Sales in Golden Valley Minnesota. The Minnesota Better Business Bureau has 18 claims against them which is extremely high for the small size of their dealership. I am not the only one that has been lied to but with the help of the internet, I hope to be one of the last!!!
